I hate his habit, I think it's really gross and dangerous. I've told him about it and he won't chew around me but once I leave he has to chew. I've known him for a couple years but just recently we became closer, and I really hate that he does this! I don't really know what else to do, can you give me some ideas?

This is harsh but there is absolutely nothing you can do. He has to make a decision to quit.

Its a sign that you should give this habit up. I mean that seriously, if you're body can't adapt to the nicotine it means you're hyper sensitive and as such you're more susceptible to mouth, lip and throat cancer. So rather than continue to push it, give it up and perhaps take up cigars. Chew by the way is not pure tobacco unless you're doing natural chaw or bolls. The canned crap is manipulated just like cigarettes to become addictive in nature. Go natural, and limit you're intake like any other vice such as alcohol, ice cream, candy, etc.

His chewing tobacco is like smoking.

You can ask him to stop but he's addicted.

tell him his teeth are gonna rot, have gum problems, probably gonna have to remove his whole jaw if he does it too long, and maybe dentures......addicted. give him some gum instead.

It's his life (or death)
It has to be his decision
