I share a vehicle with my roomate. The car is in my name and she drives it much more than I do.... I believe that her license is suspended but is not being entirely truthful about it.

Most states require them to return the license and get an ID only card, so ask to see it.

You have no legal standing to ask for her standing or record at the DL office of your state, so unless she agrees they can't provide you any information on her DL status.

I agree with the second answer. Most states confiscate the license while it is suspended. If she actually has possession of the license, it is probably not suspended. You could TRY asking the DMV, but I don't think they are allowed to tell you.

You can ask her to show you her license or return your car keys. You, as the owner of the vehicle, will be responsible for any damage she does while driving it. Your insurance carrier will probably deny coverage for an unlicensed driver who is not a resident relative. You will be financially screwed and she can move out and leave you holding the bill.

Now grow a pair and do what you know you have to do!

How about ask her direct? In most states, if she have accident while driving on suspended license, insurance no good.
