I know that a liter is 61.02 (I think) cubic inches, but does that mean that a 5.0 liter car has about a 305 cubic inch engine? Does a mustang 302 boss have about a 5.0 liter engine?

Yes, cubic inches is just an older way of measuring the engine size. They are measuring the same thing, just with different units of measure. Cubic inches in a standard unit of measure, liters is a metric unit of measure.
