I'd go as something a bit more mature. You could do Hermoine as the next movie is coming out soon. Ay movie character. I can't think of any other movies coming out this year but if you have a favorite you could do that.
You could do something a tad bit more feminine like a hippie, a cheerleader, Queen of Hearts, nurse, gothpunk girl, hareem girl, cleopatra, a geisha. I debated being a Geisha this coming year but I think I'm doing belly dancer instead. If you've ever watched this show--I was Kim Possible once and loved that.
I did a gypsy one year and that was my favorite costume. Big flowy skirts are everywear this year. You go to a fabric store and pick up any odd remnants they have --especially of bright colors and use them as scarves. Heavy makeup and some gold hoop earrings.
You could go with several of your friends and do something together. Soldiers, police men, sports athletes/refs. Charlie's Angels if there are 3 of you. A flight attendant. A door to door salesman--you could carry around a vacuum or a small appliance.
If you have a dog you could be Paris Hilton.
Or you could be something creative. A bag of jellybeans (wear a trash bag filled with multicolored balloons), a hi-lighter, a lamp, a candle, a Nintendo Wii. Inanimate objects are always fun b/c people always want to know what you are.
I like starving artists--where you carry the paint pallette. You are old enough now to be able to do that without getting paint all over everything.
A lot of it depends on what you were in the past. You wouldn't want to be anything that you've already done. Plus it depends on what you look like. Some things if you don't have the hair color for it, it just looks weird. Also stay away from any movie characters that dress too "normally"--even if they always have a particular feature like a green sweater or funky hat. If your character wears jeans, people will just think you didn't dress up at all. I did frozen one year and bought the kit on how to make a frozen face. It had hair gel that gave my hair the frozen look, blue eye shadow/blue lashes, blue lipstick and I wore pale blue shirt--but no one got it. The stuff wore out of my hair rather fast and I just looked like I'd had some accident with a makeup artist. You gotta make the grand gesture--
like a hippie or gypsy with flowers in your hair so that people can tell what you are.

Well some kids actually stop going trick or treating at 12 or 13, but if you still want to go here a re some ideas.

You should watch the show a bit more to get the right Hannah Montana look. Otherwise you have a blonde wig you could go out as Lizzie McGuire.

My son went as a cell phone..was a real big hit...could even make the dialing tones..and recorded a message...I'm not in, I'm trick or treating......and so on!
