You're not weird at all. I think it's great. I like the theatre, too. I just think you are more mature for your age and if someone laughs at you about it, they just aren't mature enough or sophisticated enough to understand it.

You are not weird. People who laugh at you just don't understand how wonderful the arts are. I didn't realize it until I was in my mid-20's, and I took a marketing internship with the local opera company. I couldn't believe people could sing so beautifully. You may want to start out asking someone out to something more mainstream and then demonstrate how wonderful the symphony or the opera is later on. And if they don't like it, it probably isn't a good fit anyway.

No, not at all! There is a wide variety of things to like and do out there. There wouldn't be opera if there weren't people to go see/hear it! People should appreciate you for your cultured-ness. Trust me, there are tons of people out there who like the same kinds of things as you.

I don't think that is strange at all. I count one of the highlights of my life that I got to see Andre Segovia, the classical guitarist, twice before he died. He had a friend at the University I was attending. I enjoyed seeing Isaac Stern and Itzaak Perlman and many other great performances. Don't be afraid to enjoy beauty and inspiration in all its forms. It shows the genius of man - and woman!

Absolutely not! I think that "artsy" people are cool. They usually have "free spirits" and aren't afraid to follow their heart or think independently. No matter what people think, remember to be true to yourself. If it makes you happy, do it!

You're not odd at all. You love culture. It is supposed to expand your mind. Learn all you can, later it will make you sophisticated.
