Guns and Roses were the melding of L.A. Guns (Los Angeles) and Axl Rose (Indiana). Very American.
AC/DC is from Australia, though they are so well known they can hang out anywhere.

The members of GNR come form L.A and the members of AC/DC come from Australia, but I'm pretty sure Angus and Malcom Young are from Scotland.
