You are better off going to a library for that information. I studied it in school myself and there are some really good books out there. Believe it or not iI foudn the best ones for information were 'The X-files, books of the unexplained volumes one and two'
As for founders, what they practice and when they started.....you wont find the same answer anywhere. Try conentrating on the things they practice.

The Occult is a very broad term, that covers many spiritual ideas and topics. The word "Occult" means "hidden" , the knowledge considered to be Occult, is knowledge that is hidden from most people, and requires you to seek it out. It is mystical knowledge not ordinarily found in every day life. These days people like to chalk it up to things like superstitions and folk magic, but that is barely scratching the surface. There are even occult branches of the Christian and Jewish faith, and other mainstream religions, most people just don't hear about the more mystical branches of religions, but because such knowledge is "hidden" it is Occult. The Occult is not a religion, and it does not have a founder. There is no date that I can tell you it started, mystic knowledge has always been there, for those who wish to look deeper than every day religious thought in thier explorations of the cosmos. If the websites are blocked, it is probably because your parents installed a program that limits your access where you should go. Perhaps you should talk to your parents to help you search for sites on the Occult, or perhaps you could have your Mom go to the library with you, and have the librarian recommend some general books on the subject. That way your Mom can look them over, and make sure it is something she feels appropriate for you. Even if you could find web sites about it, there are many good ones, but also many awful and misleading ones as well, and if you don't know the difference, then web sites would be no use to you.
Do keep in mind when using sources such as Wikipedia, about.com, or Yahoo answers for the matter, that you can't be sure of your sources, as wikis, and answers such as this one, even mine, can be written by anyone, if they are qualified or not, and a well researched book would probably be a better bet for such a project.

The word "occult" conveys the ideas of secrecy and hidden knowledge, a central component of magical organizations in the past was the transmission of esoteric wisdom through initiation rites. In the seventeenth century there was a fascination with secret societies, and it was at that time the Rosicrucianism and Freemasonry were established. In the nineteenth century the Theosophical Society was established as later the Hermetic Orderof the Golden Dawn-a synthesis of the practices and tradititions of Rosicrucianism, Freemasonry and Theosophy- was also focused on a mystical union with divinity. You should be able to find lots of informatation on these societys. Helena Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott founded the Theosophical Society, there is also informatation on them. You might look up also Samuel"MacGregor" Mathers one of the co-founders of Golden Dawn. Good Luck, I hope this helps.

.Google Kate Fox or the Fox sisters. I think they were around the 1870's in New York . They were the founders of spiritualism that really took off then. Good luck on your project

Right after the words "I NEED HELP," was where you started to go wrong. . . What you are asking is not usually called "help!" . . To learn more about Satanism, you should open this Coke bottle from the correct end. Go to YOUTube, and get the video of big mouth Anton LaVey on his Deathbed, crying for Jesus like a cowardly lttle b(*Bleep!*)tch. THAT is the fate that you are seeking.

To start with, most webs only tell you what they want to believe and want you to believe (not all). Those are mostly cults. They are usually based on what they see in movies, tv, what they want to be real.... Be careful in your search and best to you!
