If I go back in time and kill myself, what would happen?

Say time travel is possible. If I was to go back in time ten years and kill myself would I die? Since I would have been dead ten years, how would I, ten years later, go back and kill myself? What do you think would happen?

There are four possibilities.

1. There would be a force stopping you from killing yourself.
2. You would start a new branch in the time continuum and start another universe where you got killed. The new universe would be a different from the one you came from.
3. The time continuum would adjust itself to create a new plausible time line. This would probably result in your vanishing from the known universe throughout all of time. You never existed.
4. The time continuum would break and cause all matter and energy to explode into a new big bang starting at the time and place you killed yourself.

First of all your asking the same question as the age old "if I went back in time and killed my grandfather would I still be here?" The laws of time are very stringent. If you were to go back in time and kill yourself you would immediately seize to exist. If the thought comes in to mind how you made it far enough in time to go back and kill yourself then think about this. If you are able to go back in time then time would not be a straight line, it would be a p shaped figure. If traveled along the axis once then went back in time you would come back to yourself all at one time killing yourself would cause the first generation you to die along side the second generation you (or the past you.) Because you traveled the line once looped back around and eradicate yourself from existence. See when thinking about the question think outside the box, every one does not believe that someone can just disappear in to thin are, but logically if you kill your self as soon as the last breath leaves your molecules in your first generation body will dissipate. Due to the fact that they do not exist as one entity anymore.
