for a baby girl, my fiance and i like the name Arienh (or Airian, or however it can be spelled..i personally like Aerienh, but that's just me) it's pronounced so i think AIR-EE-EN. or AH-RAY-EN. we think it's very pretty, but my fiance for some reason is worried that it may seem to similar to the term Aryan (if you don't know what the term refers to, than good! it's associated with hitler's perfect 'race' you know, blonde hair blue eyes is the best. weird because he didn't have eitehr, but he was crazy, so ...erm yeah.) either way, we'd hate to name one of our children a name associated with that horrible time in history. i don't think it's similar to hitler's term ata ll, but he's worried other people may. so what do you think?

thank you everyone for being honest. i appreciate it! though i still think it's pretty, we've agreed it'd be best to go with a different name. your answers were all helpful.

Well believe it or not my 8 year old name is Arienne (Air-re-in). So far I have had no problems with people comparing it to the Aryan nation, I didn't get the name from there it was a mixture Adrienne and Arianna. My daughter loves her name and so does everyone else.

Arienne is similar to Arianne: Meaning: Daughter of Minos, Alternate Meaning - Holy, or Pleasing
Origin: Latin, Greek, French

Well I personally think it is a beautiful name. the name that is pronounced AH-RAY-EN is very similar to the term Aryan. But it's your choice and if you wanted you could choose a name that starts with A and isn't so obvious. Arianna, Alli, Ava (i personally like this one haha), Alicia, Abbey, Alliah, Arial . Good Luck i'm sure that your choice will be a beautiful name. XxX

Go back to the baby name list and come up with some other options. Those are not good. And with ANY name stay away from really out there spellings. You don't want your child going through life having to tell everyone how to say their name .

how about Airiana or Arianna? Something like that might make it seem a little less noticeable. I used to absolutely love Airian until it same to my realization that the name is so close to Aryan.

I agree with your fiance. And to be completely honest (since you did ask), I think your spelling is hideous. Sorry.

the name itself is nice but it would be unfortunate or your kid to have to go through life having a name associated to something as horrible as that.

Yes, your child might get some problems with Airian! You could spell it as ARIANNE or ARIANNA though, and I don't think that connotation would exist!
ARIANNE
ARIANNA
ARABELLE
AYRE (pronounced air)

Good luck!
