Got to agree with The Passion of the Christ, also Wolf Creek,The Ring, The Grudge (the Japanese can really make horrors can't they?) and I film which I believe is banned now called The Entity about a woman being repeatedly raped by a spirit; there was one point where you could see finger indentations but there was nothing there, horrific. The worst thing was, it was supposedly based on a true story! (Apologies to those of you going to bed now! Wasn't thinking!)
To Sara H. You should watch Hostel, honestly, talk about hype; it was hilarious! I expected it to be horrendous but found it really funny, definitely comedy-horror, not serious horror at all, even though it was supposed to be. What a load of s***.

Irreversible - the most brutal rape scene I have ever watched.
Visitor Q - Disturbing but mroe of a twisted dark comedy
The "Guinea Pig" series - low budget Japanese films. Charlie Sheen mistook one of the (part 2) for a snuff film and alerted the FBI.
Oldboy - a great film with a subtle but sick ending.
Requiem for a Dream (the first time I saw it, it didn't have the same impact the 2nd time)

I would say Tetsuo: The Iron Man. A Japanese film about a man who slowly mutates into a strange metal mutant creature. The scene where parts of his body change into a giant drill and his girlfriend is killed with it is truly nasty.
Or Irreversible starring Monica Belluci. A truly disturbing film which is played in reverse going from the consequences of a rape to the idylic life lived before the attack occurred.

"Visitor Q". In the first scene a man has sex with his teenage prostitute daughter. The guy goes downhill from there until by the end of the film you marvel at how moral he was at the start.
I have seen many shockingly violent, passionate, hate-filled, accurate, horrific and even pornographic films. "Visitor Q" stands out as the most disturbing by a good amount.

I agree, The Passion of the Christ was disturbing..I'm not sure if it was the graphic scenes or just how intense man's hatred for man was portrayed.
The Exorcist also did a number on me...I was not right being home alone for years after that movie.

I agree with you on Hills have Eyes, it's the most revolting, sick film ever. There were parts of it I couldn't believe they included, even on an 18 rated film. It was just twisted. This is coming from someone who likes horror films.

An old Troma film named Bloodsucking Freaks, one scene someone pulls a womans teeth out and then gets oral sex from her, then he drills a hole in her skull and sucks some brains out with a straw. And that thing you see the woman eating on a hot dog bun at the end of the movie..um it's not a hot dog (use your imagination). Oh and the post about Devil's Rejects, the actors and crew on that film felt dirty making it.

i wont watch hills have eyes- apparently a lady gets raped. not a fun thing for a woman to watch.
May? that was a good film. disturbing but sweet, involves a lonely lady and blind kids crawling about on broken glass trying to find a doll.
dawn of the dead remake- man in love + pregnant lady + zombie = zombie labour and zombie baby and man in love. also, zombie andy and his whiteboard.... and i have... a zombie... phobia...
i do! around the shaun/dawn of the dead time my friends did the actions and sounds and oh god did i scream. i watched hborror movies since i was two years of age. nover scared. but zombies? im sold.
i find a lot of comedies disturbing, aka: little man
