We could be killing ourselves with CO2 right now. We're told global warming will bring significant changes - however, it's our human nature to think in terms of a lifetime - maybe 100 years. What about in 10,000 years - will any heat at all be able to escape the deadly atmosphere we may have created by then?? Man will most likely engeneer his own demise and in the end will say - Oh - somebody should have warned us.

I agree with the super-volcano answer. It hasn't erupted for a very very long time (don't ask me the exact # of years), and it has been due for a long time now. It will through Earth slightly off its axis, completely annihilate all of North America, and launch the earth into another Ice Age. At least that is what my science teacher said. Oh, and she said it was 100 years, not a thousand.

Yep, Yellowstone'll do it!

It will our inability to observe all the things which make us similar. Many people everyday focus on the things which make us different. Republicans versus Democrats, One religion against another, lack of tolerance between the races. It's enough to make you sick. Look it, we are all born and we all die, lets try to fill the in between stuff with positive things and work together dammit!

Believe it or not it is already in the works. Since we created this egotistical idea of a "Manifest Destiny." (We should own all land to the West of the original 13 colonies) Now that we have taken over the West we are expanding everywhere and have ran out of places to take over and so we now are just picking places to take over.

I don't think this can be predicted. A single cause seems less likely than a combination, anyway.

Avoidance

What we fail to address,
doesn't fade and free us,
It mutates and destroys.
