The origin of the name is Russia.
Manneke is right in how to pronounce it, it's like Mee-Sjah. Both parts of the name pronounced shortly, so not Meeeeeesjaaah, the 'mee' pronounced just like you say 'me'.
The 'a' as the last 'a' in 'America'.
In the Netherlands it is not a common name. It is much more common in Germany though.
In Dutch Michel is more common, pronounced as Mee-Shell. Also with a short 'Me'.
Both Micha and Michel come from Michael.

I've looked it up in the wikipedia.
In Dutch micha is the same as in English Micah. It's a Hebrew name.

If you go to this page and you click on nederlands (means dutch) on the left you see the dutch version and the name Micah is changed in Micha. I would pronounce at like miesja. But it depends probably in which country you are how it is pronounced.
You can also choose many other languages and see how it is written in those languages.

Hi,
It is true that the name originates from russia. In Holland you can write it in two different ways micha and mischa(like sacha and sascha). But they're both pronounced the same. The two micha's I know here in Holland are pronounced like me-sja just like sa-sja.

Micha is not originally a Dutch name. If it were a Dutch name, it would be pronounced with the "ch" sounding like a harder version of the "ch" in "loch".
However, it is pronounced "Meesha."
