I think you can tell when people are lying by looking at their faces and eyes. Most people who lie will not look at you straight in the eye. They will roll their eyes another way. Most of the time when I'm getting a student to say he or she is sorry for something, they will just mumble,"sorry", and will not look at me. I know then that they are not telling me the truth. So yes, you can lie and tell the truth because your body language will give you away every time.
