A psychiatrist is a "brain doctor". This should work if the kid understands that brain processes cause our behavior.

Try saying to the 8 year old that there are many kinds of doctors and as the body can fall ill and need care and looking after by a doctor, so can the mind and the brain. One type of doctor that helps to take care of the mind or the brain is called a Psychiatrist.

Depends...is this because the child has some problem and has to see the child psychiatrist? Or just for learning and teaching purposes?
If I had to take my child to a "kiddie shrink", I'd describe him or her as a friend who asks questions and talks, to try to help the child be happier. I'd encourage the child to think of it like a story-telling session, and to tell the professional stories about how s/he feels. That way it should be non-threatening.

are you able to are making a itemizing of issues the position astrology (which one? yet assuming the style named western) obviously succeeds to do more advantageous positive than random probability? Or more advantageous positive than different alternatives that do not require blind conception? Being so large and effective, why choose conception? won't be able to astrology's own information stand out? I ask this for all time and under no circumstances get one answer. regardless of if scientists (back, which of them? A link please) do say we are born with a personality (unclear), that's no information for astrology. The hows and whys of astrology do no longer bypass any sorting out. No statistic will help it really is claims. yet you ask why human beings reject astrology? Astrology is, replaced into, and continuously will be a fortune telling gadget. That so occurs to be bigoted. it really is regularly happening interest is to foretell the destiny, and it fails. Why could astrology be able to do secondary initiatives any more advantageous positive? What disproves astrology isn't what the skeptics say, notwithstanding it really is own inconsistency and the contradictions. Depends on the psychiatrist.

A complete stranger that specialises in a non-science and spent a lot of time reading books inspired by (mostly) men from the last century that didnt have much to do with kids.

OK...thats the wosrt case.

A person that is passionate about helping kids with their problems and fears and will do all possible to help them feel comfortable with the world they live in.

Ive met both types and I know which one I liked. He was my 'friend'.....didnt need any other word.

A synonym might be "head doctor". Say,

Sometimes something makes your brain sick, just like your you get sick to you stomach or you have a hurt on your leg. Sometimes there is medicine for it and sometimes they recommend exercises, mental exercises. Many times they try to find out what is causing you to show pain...etc.

I think I would just tell them that they are going to meet someone very nice who is going to talk to them about their feelings and some of the things they do. I would tell them that this person is going to ask them some questions and it's alright to be honest with their answers. Keep it as simple as possible.

I told my 4 yr old grandson that I am taking care of that he/she is someone to talk to that wont yell at you, wont laugh at you and is some one to tell secrets to. Even the ones that he or she doesn't want to tell you. That if he does want to talk to them privately, the secret wont be told to anyone at all, not even you. It worked for my grandson. It helped him to open up.
