The mystery is why you think there is a mystery behind the number 23?? Get real, numbers are just symbols to help us understand things in the world, they don't have any significance apart from that which we give them.

Everything that you knw(birthday, s.s. #, name, pretty much anything you can turn into numbers) is supposed to come out to the number 23. I personally cannot do it unless I ask how old I was last year. I think it's all a hoax.
