The best possibilities are Barrett...the best hitter of the guys I will mention, Gerald Laird...an unknown for the time being but maybe a top 6 or 7 fantasy catcher this year (good power, potential .300 hitter and will steal 10-15 sacks), Estrada (.300 hitter who was 2nd in the NL last year with 71 RBI....in only 115 games, pretty impressive),and the next 3 guys are worth keeping an eye on. Lo Duca...veteran in a good lineup with no power but hitting in the 2 hole behind Reyes and in front of the power (will score a ton of runs for a catcher), Chris Iannetta ...the best hitting prospect among catchers right now(could hit near .300 with solid power numbers) and Ronny Paulino (no power but a solid hitter, decent fantasy option but the least likely to put up numbers of the guys I've mentioned).

Personally of this group I like Laird...I think the potential is too hard to pass up, solid hitter with good power and a stolen base once in a while are too hard to pass on. Barrett or Estrada would be the safest pick....you know what to expect from him.

Cripes people - give the guy someone who might be a FA!!! Honestly, Josh Bard or Ronny Paulino - with Johnny Estrada or Russ Martin an outside shot. Right now I take Bard, and hope Ramon isn't out TOO long unless Martin is available.

Try Paul Lo Duca or Bengie Molina. You can even try Ronny Paulino, catcher for the pirates. He is going to be a stand-out catcher this year.

Paulino from Pittsburgh looks like a good hitter. Could maybe get Estrada from Milwaukee.

It depends on how many players are in your league. But likely, Kenji Johjima will be on the FA list, and he is a great player.
