If it was proven in court that it was PURELY for self defense, would you have to go to jail? If so, how long? No, I am not a murderer, just curious.

Self Defense has long been established as a legitimate defense in a court of law.

In Texas the owner of property is king on that property. If a thief breaks into a person's house and is then shot. The police will automatically consider it an act of self defense and they will rarely even file charges against the home owner. Such a case came up earlier this month.

If it was proven that it was for self defense you can be set free from maybe a little time spent in jail or a very long time depends on who you kill or for killing in the first place. These trials do take a lot to prove so as to ensure the right decision is being made.

First of all, call the cops your dad is evil and you mom.....well a lazy a** no offense. Tell them you going to go visit a friend then if they say ok then leave the house and go to the police or the child protective services and explain to them what they are doing to you and your siblings. They will take care of the problem. I'm severely sorry and hope every thing gets much better.

It depends...if you are pure self defense then you go free

If you started the fight or if you used deadly force when the other person didn't...ie...they hit you and you shot them...then you have imperfect selfdefense....you rould get manslaughter and would get jail time.

HA, no. That's why you have the right to bare arms, to protect yourself from the bad people who want to hurt you or even kill you, so you fight back and if they die, then it's their fault.

(arms=guns, weapons)

I dont think so. Now, if you disabled them, and then proceeded to kill them, then yes.
