Ever since my 9th birthday party where this creepy guy came out with a clown costume on I've been freaked out by all clowns. The mask he was wearing was all faded and scratched. It spooked me then and to this day I can remember it clearly (and I still get spooked!) Clowns are supposed to bring people joy and happiness. Maybe I'm just weird but I don't like them and never will!

Thank you so much. I have no idea why clowns creep me out so much and it's such a shame. My girlfriend and her husband used to be professional clowns and when I see them dressed up for publicity shots I just get weirded out to the max. They had so much fun and brought a lot of joy to a lot of kids but some of us have such a different reaction. I look forward to seeing some of the other contributors responses. Maybe I'll finally get this thing sorted out.

me i'm petrified i as quickly as went to a a million year previous's b-day occasion and there replaced right into a clown and this different little woman replaced into scared too so i babysat her frolicked a techniques far off from the clown

i was just thinking about this the other day... i seemed to have developed an adult fear of clowns... i never remember being bothered by them when I was a kid... I think it may be due to the prevalence of scary movies using masked or clown like characters. they creep me out.

Watching the movie "It" made me think twice about them. Also, that clown doll from the intro of "Are you afraid of the dark"

Clowns are freaky and weird and what nightmares are made of. I've had issues with them all my life, they give me the creeps. Shuddering here just thinking about them.

They are spooky. Always grinning and everything.
If you hate them, don't watch Killer Clowns From Outer Space, that is what killed it for me.

i agree with many other people, i saw IT and well im terrified. and im afraid hes hiding in my shower and stuff. ALSO i hate balloons now 2! im easily scared and its the scariest movie ive seen in a long long time

me too! they are so fake, with their painted on smiles and goofy outfits.its like they are trying to be funny and friendly, but its all a lie! i don't know why young children find them amusing, they are creepy. also im sure movies don't give them such a great reputation: they are always the killers if in the movie. (stephen king's IT).
i also hate MARIONETTE DOLL and DUMMIES! weird..
