Absolutely. But, it's all a matter of a clash between lifestyles, politics, philosophies, beliefs, religion, etc., etc.
Some folks prefer to live their lives by simple patterns and beliefs. That's what works best for them. But when they encounter someone who seems to think radically different than them, they're threatened and lash out.
They cannot consider for a moment that there might be other legitimate lifestyles out there; it threatens their very existence, I think.
I don't try to impose my lifestyle or belief on anyone, but I'm also not going to accept their narrow judgements, either.
They're entitled to their own patterns, rainbows, etc. Just don't look down your noses at my life.
I'm doin' just fine, thank you.

Yes I have, because sometimes I can have a very dry sense of humor which some people mistake for me being rude, then I have to apologize for hurting someones feelings, even though that wasn't my intent.

I'm sorry but we all know the truth hurts sometimes and since i never sweeten the blow i am taken wrong alot of times
but my friends always come to me for my opinion because i am so blunt

Yes after my Mom died a lot of people thought that I was just being a Bi**h and I didn't want to explain, so know they really can kiss my a**.

snobbish. but i'm careful not to be too friendly towards the opposite gender because at the other end of the spectrum, the immature ones tease, and that's really no problem, but it gets uncomfortable sometimes.

yeah, a girl I worked with told me after about a month in her department that before I worked with her she thought I was a b----. I was really shocked, then she said after working with me she knew i wasn't.
