It used to be much worse. Homosexuality was labeled a psychological disorder until the 1970s. Our society is much more accepting now. (Of course, popular opinion doesn't tell whether something is right or not; slavery was also pretty popular at one time, as were Hitler's death camps for awhile.)

Sorry if I have to disagree with most but I'd have to say yes. One things that makes it seem worse is that more gays have "come out of the closet" than before. It was even like this in the 60's &70's even though being Bi-Sexual was accepted in the music circles.
Figure that one out.

I can't say always as I've only really noticed it since I have had openly gay friends, but in some places it i really feel uncomfortable for them because of the looks they get, and the comments that are made at levels that are designed to ensure they hear what is being said.

what are you talking about? Society today is a lot more homo-tolerant than they have ever been. They used to castrate and mutilate gay people back in some medieval towns. Thank your lucky stars that you were born in this century, otherwise you might've been hung.

Of course, you could have also been born back in Roman times and had a boy sex slave. It could have been better, but at least it's not worse.

First off no caps, we see your question. Secondly, I am a straight female and comfortable with my sexuality. Characters of people bother me not who they do or what they are made up of. Are you homophobic? I think that you might be.

Which society? Western society is descended from the ancient greeks who thought homoeroticism was the purest form of love.

i notice that in the last few years there has been a definate increase in the focus people place on homosexuality. the homophobia stems from the lack of resources available to people to educate themselves and become more tolerant

yes, actaully it's much more open than it used to be but the homophobes are louder than ever that's why it seems worse now.

No way..........the Greeks used to be very tolerant of gay men. It has only been since gay people have tried to get married, benefits, and adopt have people really gone nuts.
