My sister has a C-section - and the anaesthetic didn't work. Seriously. Apparently it happens to one in a hundred, and she was just unlucky.
She would much rather have had a natural birth, needless to say, but she couldn't due to medical problems.

I have no idea why people believe a c-section is easier. I had my son naturally without any drugs. My sister had a c-section, because she was having twins and both of them were stubborn and didn't want the other one to pass, so after a while in labor she had the surgery done. Then when it healed, she complained about how long she was in labor, how long it took it to heal, and having the long scar across her belly.

Most people don't realize that a C-section is considered major surgery. No one would expect someone who just had a liver transplant or heart surgery to be ready to care for a new baby right away. For some reason people think a C-section is nothing. They're WRONG!

My friend would say the opposite, & she had one natural and one by c section, but still, they do cut into you. She just prefered the c section for some reason.

I had 3 c-sections and after the first one, I thought I would die. And it took over a year for the stitch area to heal.

I dont think they do it to avoid pain - any woman who does her research would know what you know. I think they choose it for convienience - knowing exactly when it'll happen, to have the experience shortened, so it doesnt end up being 20 hours of labour and partly because they think in their mind that its easier to have the surgery than push (although thats a matter of opinion obviously)

I would demand a c-section because the idea of something tearing out of my vagina just seems messed up on too many levels.
I respect those who have natural births, I just don't think I could do it.

That is not the only reason why women have C-sections my high blood pressure had alot to do with it and the pain only made it sky rocket.

I've had 2 c-sections (both emergency!) and believe me, I'd rather have a natural birth anyday!
