So he can complete his oil pipeline?

Yes.

The oil fields are secure in Iraq. Now they need to finish building the pipe through Afghanistan to the Persian sea.

That's why they can't retreat now. The pipe ain't finished.
Even then they can't retreat since the "insurgents" will come and blow up the pipe, messing everything up :)

I'm glad to see people still see the truth :)

I'm assuming you mean Iraq, since we have not invaded Iran. But many Iraqis DO want us there, and many troops DO believe in the war. The war is certainly not about oil. As of 2004, Iraq was only #14 on the list of petroleum producing nations. Iraq was invaded because Saddam failed to follow the UN sanctions put upon him after the first Gulf War.

Our troops dont wanna be there? I have talked to hundreds of troops, and they all believe in their mission. Iran doesnt want us there. I cant imagine why. Maybe because us and them are enemies (so doing exactly what Iran wants may not be too smart.) Bush is forcing occupation. So what do you suggest? We leave, allow Syrian, Iranian, Saudi Arabian terrorists flood in and make Iraq a terrorist nation. Is that what you truly want? Flowers and candy work on Valentines Day, not on terrorism.

Since we aren't in Iran, your question is without merit.

Read the answer posted by Dylan. He seems to have a grasp on where our troops are, and why they are there.

You might be thinking of the pipeline in Afganistan. It will benifit the EU, not the US.

Iran? I think you mean Iraq. Do you know anyone serving in Iraq right now? I do, my big brother is there right now and he is training the Iraqi soldiers.....believe me sister, 'they want us there!' What oil pipeline are you referring too? Please do not post until you get your facts straight. Just another liberal whack job!
