First, there are conservative Democrats, liberal Republicans and Atheism is quite a conservative perspective. Religious conservatives simply don't see the natural affliation of conservatism and atheism.

Second, there is a tendency for people to become more liberal as they become more educated. The tendency is likely due to the fact that conservatism values tradition and education holds tradition up to the light of facts and challenges it. Often tradition does not survive against facts, it is simply the historical solution to a problem. To conserve is to hold to older ideas as a guiding principal. Education should require proof that the old idea is a defendable idea, particularly in the light of contrary data.

It isn't so much that Democrats, Liberals and Atheists think they are smarter, but Atheists usually are highly educated, our founding fathers, most of our scientists and writers are atheists. Democrats tend to use science more than Republicans and Liberals tend to be better educated as a group.

A paper done not that long ago, in fact found that even controlling for all other social factors, being a conservative Protestant or a fundamentalist Protestant was a strong indicator of lower educational attainment and in particular lower levels of college preparation, lower grade point averages, and lower desire to be educated. Another impact was if parents held biblically inerrant beliefs. All of these effects were held to be unlikely due to chance at a level of probability of less than .001. It seems that the religiously conservative are less educated, knowledgable about their world, and have less desire to know factual knowledge about their world. The study looked at 1,337 people so it was not a small scale study.

that's merely you. Face it. How difficult is it to be smarter than a believer whilst it incorporates a communicate approximately faith. merely seem on the discussions in this section. What do the Christians god. The cosmological argument, the teleological argument, irreducible complexity, pascal's wager, and not something in any respect supported by potential of fact or data. you may no longer choose a god into existence. in case you prefer to be taken greater heavily, that's as much as you to sound greater smart. it is not that atheists are greater smart. it fairly is that the non secular community has been employing the comparable previous debunked non secular arguments for the previous 3 hundred years. provide it a relax! you haven't any longer any data and all your arguments are in accordance with logical fallacies. The bible is a e book of contradictions, over 50,000. And a textual diagnosis of the hot testomony, in assessment with historical manuscripts, nicely-knownshows over 4 hundred,000 textual errors. in basic terms 7 of the epistles ascribed to Paul would have been written by potential of him. all of us understand not one of the authors of biblical texts and we've not got any unique texts anyplace. If the bible is the international of God, we've not got it. So, heavily, how difficult is it to sound smarter than a Christian?

A love that one comment that says "stupid people always think they are smarter" and then calls them idiots.

Do I need to make a case why people with statisically proven higher levels of education are smarter (maybe not better) than those with lower ones.

Don't forget their are a ton of really smart republicans and really stupid democrates but the smarter party tends to be the Democratic one (as a whole).

After reading some of these comments I can see plenty of liberal mindsets. They are like a teenager going through that stage where they feel they know more than their parents and feel like the world owes them something. The only problem is they never grow out of that stage. Let me just give my definition of what a conservative is as the way I see myself and fellow friends and others that I know that are conservative. We believe in God, yet we do not try as atheist and liberals say push our religious views on anyone. That is between themselves and God. We do not like big government nor do we like the government in our business. We want our government to adhere to the constitution and not do like the current administration and try to bypass it or circumvent it. We want our government spending under control and not keep spending more than we are making. You can rationalize it all you want any way you want, but the fact is you have to live within your means. We enjoy our freedom and liberties. Speaking for myself only, I could care less what point of view you have, just don't try and force your ideology on me, like the current administration does. I do like my guns, I have been raised with them and have my military experience, so I am proficient. As far as the idea that conservatives have low IQ's and uneducated is one of the stupid views that make me dislike liberals. I am working on my Master's in Criminal Justice. I have a BS in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Work. I have a 3.4 GPA. I know its not a perfect 4.0 but it still means Im not a box of hammers. And me being a veteran am definitely offended by some of the remarks about military personnel as a whole are not educated. I have several friends and some of my younger soldiers in my unit getting their degrees or already have them. I normally would care less about politics, but the last few years there has been more and more legislation being put through that is aimed at taking our liberties away. So, I have been proactive in writing my senators and congressmen about a lot of my pleasure or displeasure with their voting. And one last thing, being a conservative, it is a big pet peeve of mine and fellow conservatives for people to take responsibility for their actions. Don't blame others for your problems or woes. Like this administration does. The blame game is used up. Barry wanted the nomination for POTUS, he got it, campaigned for it and won it. Any so called mess he inherited he wanted, so blaming someone else is being childish. But of course libs just think conservatives are just dumb rednecks being racist and bigots. That's the only thing they ever say when they don't like someone else's point of view.
