Even people with high IQs need to work at success and relationships. I have no facts to support this claim, but I would guess that the divorce rate for geniuses is the same as the population as a whole. There are geniuses that are financially blessed (Genius Bill Gates), and there are geniuses that couldn't care less about money (Big Time Genius Albert Einstein). Eliminate those that acquire their wealth through inheriting it (Not Even Close To A Genius Paris Hilton), and success in economic endeavors requires very hard work, regardless of how smart an individual (Inherited A Lot But Still Pretty Smart Donald Trump). Success in relationships has little or nothing to do with smarts. Honesty, compassion, selflessness, yes, but Intellegence, not really.

I don't necessarily think that having a high IQ ensures success or a happy marriage. Common sense and an understanding of people, hard work and ambition will get you just as far in business and being a loving, respectful, loyal, commited person has more to do with having a happy marriage than having a high IQ.

Not necessarily. A high IQ coupled with motivation and perseverance equal success and possibly lots of money. A great marriage? Well that's all luck.

The greatest minds they genereally make the most stupid mistakes. Having a high IQ can limit your functioning in other areas. Or it may seem to others you have a disablity. They thought Albert Einstein was mentally challenged for not speaking untill he was 8 years old. Innovation can equate to success in money but not necessarly in marriage.

High IQ does not guarantee either success, money or happy marriage. Look at the Unibomber, who was a member of Mensa.

High IQ is helpful, but it doesn't guarantee a thing. In fact, it's a relatively minor variable. Ability - knowledge, skills and experience - is far more important. And so is desire.

But the most important factor of all is character strength - the willingness to do the hard things when challenged by life or work...patience, persistence, courage, composure, responsibility, work ethic, self-discipline, self-confidence, honesty, integrity and other attributes.

It certainly couldn't hurt, but, no, they may have a high IQ and be dumb as a door knob when it comes to common sense...I feel anyone can have anything, anyone of these you mentioned, whether they are slow, normal/average, intelligent, or even a genius, it's up to us to make these happen, and anyone can have success, money, marriage, whatever, it just takes initiative.

Absolutely not.

Most people with high IQ's are hindered in other parts of their life such as social skills.

If you don't have the people skills, drive, or determination then you end up becoming "that guy" who always tells people how smart he is and never accomplishes anything.
