14 is a good age to start dating. You may fall in love before age 20,19. or even 18. At 14, take things very slowly. Don't fall in love too fast. Find a nice, kind guy who treats you like a queen. And you have to be equally in love with him. Have a good time!

No, not really. The difference in maturity in this age range is too great. Sure, when you are 24 and your sig other is 22-30, it won't be so bad, but this will have evened out the maturity levels. A 20 year old dating a 14 year old has some issues or is looking to get laid (sorry for being so blunt). For a 14 year old, I would say they should be dating someone in the 13-15 y/o range to keep it in the same maturity range. This will help prevent pressures influencing the 14 y/o decisions regaurding things like sex, alcohol, and tobacco use.

A 14 year old shouldn't be dating. At this point the child should be focused on school work, hobbies, sports, church, community work, etc. There is SO much for them to learn about themselves. And they are not mature enough (mentally or physiologically) to handle dating and pairing relationships.

And any 17 - 20 year old that would date a 14 year old is immature and irresponsible and best and a pervert at worst.

I think that a better option is 'courting' in which the pairing off is delayed until both people are old enough to consider a married relationship. Then the relationship is built on the approach of building a friendship and exploring mutual values and interests. Here's a link with some info. God bless.

OK no!!! are you kidding me....you are 14 yrs old and you think you are ready to date? where are you gonna go on a "date" to,,,and not to mention a range of 12-20 yr olds you have to be joking at least i hope so i would say if your parents are letting you date witch is odd enough in its self then your age range is about 14 to 16 and that's pushing it one to two yrs difference is huge at this age

NEVER date anyone older by more than 2 years and even 2 years is pushing it. They will be much more mature on a physical & emotional level than a 14 year old. Aim for 14-16 year olds. Good luck

no way. 12 is too immature for a 14 year old girl and 20 is waaayy too mature for a 14 year old girl. So I have to agree with the other person and say it should be more like 13-15.

i would never let a 14 year old date someone that is 20 years old. goodness knows what would happen... there is a BIG maturity difference there. i think more like 12-16 or 17... not really too much more until they are more grown up [MATURE]... bc a lot of 14 year olds now arent as mature as they should be. i think it is good though that you are setting limits for your child because too many parents just turn their kids loose once they hit 13. so good parent award goes to you... hope that helps. best wishes...

No. You shouldn't date till you are 16 and the range would be more like 16 to 17.
