who ever said it had anything t do with Jesus
easter originally was a pagan festival of fertility,
the Christians came and superimposed the Jesus thing on top and timed the resurection to fall on that date it was a trick to wean Pagans towards Christianity
and the two religions got mixed up and blended ,the same with Santa claus (which comes from a Pagan mushroom cult ,and the tree ,which came from a phalic worshipping cult )

the confusion was created by the christians ,and only they are to blame for the rediculous results

The bunny is connected with the celebration of fertility that took place in ancient times in the Spring equinox. This pagan celebration takes place at the same date as the Christian Easter, so they have nothing to do with each other except the date.
The eggs are connected with the idea of birth, Resurrection, starting over. They first came from China and were adopted by Church in The 18th century, connected with that idea of Resurrection.
Hope this helped.

None taken. The Romans played a kind of Olympics in the spring in which they handed out eggs to the winner. Also if you look at the indigenous aspects of many other countries eggs represent fertility... Spring is in line with sex reproduction. Ever heard the term spring is in the air when someone sees to love birds. Most likely like Christmas the date has almost nothing to do with Jesus. It just coincides with an important date from the past. Most religious holidays are this way (in Christianity anyways) it made it easier to convert "heathens" to religion by telling them "yeah we have that Holiday too!!" Or character whatever (St's replaced gods in Latin America for the Aztecs) OK too long you probly won't read it now. Bye

I was always told the eggs, at least, were a symbol of life. Given it is supposed to be spring right now (not so springy in PA) and Easter is about Jesus not necessarily coming back to life, but rising again--the eggs kind of make sense.

The bunny? Lindt makes a good chocolate bunny.

absolutely nothing. Probably some way to get the town folk together as a community on Easter Day, Easter egg hunts and games, chocolate bunnies for the kids

There is a relationship between eggs and Mary Magdalene, I don't know what it is. And the bunny or rabbit is sacred to the Great Mother....which is pagan. So I really don't know about bunnies and Jesus.

Eggs are symbols of life and rabbits breed like crazy symbolizing the hope of birth. NOT. They came up with them so that non-Christians would have a reason to BUY stuff. It's crass commercialism at it's finest .Never underestimate the influence Hallmark has on our society... Jim Hall was trying to think up a scheme to cash in on Easter when his daughter came to the table and dropped her stuffed bunny in his plate of eggs. AHA!.....

In most ancient religions, eggs are a symbol of birth and fertility and were often used to represent the passing of one life to another, a rebirth of sort. This pagan symbol has been roughly adapted by christianism to show the rebirth of Christ in a VERY symbolic way.
And talking about fertility, just put a couple of rabbits together and watch...

Of course, those symbols today are lost on the majority and Easter is as commercial as Christmas, but they have ancient roots in religion.

I guess the same thing as "Santa" at Christmas time, its all to take away all the "Glory" from Jesus!! And did you know that Santa, all mixed up is spelt "Satan"?!! Yep!! So, this only goes to show the world is still trying to cover up the fact that he does indeed exsist!!! I feel sorry for Jesus!!! Happy Resurection Day to you & yours!!! Smile!!!
