How come guys feel the need to lie?

i have a friend that i think is hiding some things from me. i have given him many chances to come clean but he just plays things off. what should i do to get him to confess

maybe its something that could threaten your chances of being friends. if u are a girl, which im pretty sure u are, lol maybe its awkward for him. some things aren't easy to tell. dont pressure him to tell u. chances are he will wind up tellin ya sometime. dont worry :)

He may tell you the truth but don't expect it. Some guys lie because they think we will constantly bring it up again. He is entitled to his secrets, unless they are causing him harm. If this is the case maybe he needs professional help.
If this lie is causing problems with your relationship, tell him you need the truth, you need to decide where to go from here. If it's not as important as your friendship, then maybe you will want to leave it alone for awhile, at least until he is ready to open up.
