Any state that grants the right of abortion to women should grant men the irreversable right to terminate contact and support, since they have no say in the abortion choice.

In other words, "it's not fair that if the father does not want the child, he could still become a father NOT by his choice", right?
The other side of the coin are
1) Man should use a condom next time, or have a vasectomy first! You can have as much as sex as you want if you're shooting blanks! No consequences, no possibility of getting her knocked up! (Unless the tubes magically reattached themselves, which HAS happened before)
2) Woman was the one that have to go through 9 months of pregnancy, and thus should assume the ultimate responsibility. Any mention of financial support (or lack thereof) gave too much power to the man and unbalances the equation.

It should be up to the woman & if the man does not wish to contribute financially, then his parental rights should be terminated & he should have no responsibility with the child he has had a part in creating. There should be a no contact restraining order placed into effect & the father that has signed off should be subject to arrest if he attempts to have any contact with the mother or child during those first 18 years. After that, IF he wants contact & can find his child, it's up to him to start looking for what he signed off on! Don't have sex if you don't want to deal with diffuicult situations like this. A man is responsible for what he does & if he chooses to have intercourse with a woman, then he IS responsible, because a woman cannot do this alone. Keep your sperm on you & the womans eggs can't get fertilized!

The pro-choice issue is only about WHO gets to make the decisions -- the individual or the government.
There is a difference between allowing people to make the choice for themselves to keep the child or not, and the govt forcing them (one way or the other).
Also, don't forget that the freedom of choice laws are the only thing stopping states from mandating abortion or forced sterlization. If the right to choose goes away, the govt can pass any laws it wants, just like China. Do you really want that?
Freedom of choice is not a minority position, just because you happen to disagree with the choice someone makes

It is the woman's decision. Like you say some men don't want to be a real father, but the woman has the biggest and hardest time with baring a child and raising it. Both men and women are low if they don't want to take the responsibility of the child they made. The woman should have thought of that before she opened her legs and the man before he put it in. My quote is "If u wanna do it, don it right and responsible'.

first of all, your suggestion that a man should be able to insist that a woman receive medical treatment against her will so that he doesnt have to pay child support is disgusting.
second, if anyone who asks questions like this bothered to pay attention, they would notice that there are hardly scores of men being thrown in jail for not paying child support. plenty of whining about it, but plenty more who just take off and never pay a dime.
personal medical decisions=/=not wanting to pay so a child can eat
do you really think pregnancy and childbirth and parenting is equal to having to send your ex-girlfriend $50 a month?

What are the symptoms of men who suffer psychologically from the loss of their baby by abortion?
Anger is common and often is expressed in a destructive way. He may turn to alcohol or drugs to dull the pain of his grief and shame. He may become a workaholic. He may become unemployable due to an inability to handle decision-making. He may be an excessive risk-taker, setting himself up for failure, and then seeing this self-inflicted failure as punishment for failing to protect his unborn baby.
Future relationships with women may be difficult or impossible. Additional symptoms include: sexual dysfunction, sleeplessness, panic attacks, poor coping skills, flashbacks, nightmares, self-imposed isolation or even suicidal tendencies. Yes, men hurt too, and we shouldn't forget this. Dr. John Willke.

well abortion is really the women's choice. she has the right to abort, the father or husband may give suggestions, but in the end the decision is ultimately up to the women.

as far as husband. they shouldknow whether or not their wife is on birth control. if he doesnt want kids yet then a condom is the way to go. that also applies to any man. if they buy their own then they will know if they have been tampered with. now if he was lied to then yeah i think he should not have to pay for her being devious. if she was honest and he didnt use anything then it is on him
