Not exactly like birds. In the near future (20 to 50 years from now) there will be personalized flying devices but they would be impractical and too expensive for the average person.

Some people have been predicting that since/before Icarus in Ancient Greek mythology. More than 2,000 years ago. So why should we think that will finally become a reality *now*?

I think we need to be able to make cars and other machines fly before we can make a human being fly (with wings, as opposed to a jet pack). But as fast as technology is moving, who knows...?

Although to fly is an easy thing to do with technology, but it is unlikely that humans can evolve to be like birds.
Evolution is a mean of survival, birds developed flying capabilities because they really need it (it's their unique attribute). On the other hand, humans won't develope the ability to fly because we need need it, we evolved our brains so that technology can replace the necessary evolutions of other body parts.
Therefore it is very unlikely for humans to fly like the birds.

We already do. We fly in flocks to common destinations. We just use different tools (planes instead of personal wings) to do it.

No, we're not going to fly as birds. To put it bluntly, as a species, we're too fat. We'd need at least 150 pounds of additional muscles to even hope to generate lift for even a few moments of flight.

You say in the *nearest* future? Then that would be No.

No. I wish! I always wished I could fly. I love dreams where I'm flying. I don't see it ever being possible.
