they can .. but the social pressure/peer-pressure usually steers people away from the practice. the old "birds of a feather" cliche hides a deeper behaviour-shaper

in america, there is a class-system which is rarely acknowledged and it's usually based on economic status and the accident of birth.

someday ...

John Lennon had some insight:

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so f***ing crazy you can't follow their rules,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still f***ing peasents as far as I can see,

etc

You can't say never, there's always an exception to the rule. But to answer your question, in general, there are few places where members of the different classes will interact. If you spend all of your time with the same class of people, how will you meet someone from another class to get to know and marry? In addition, if one were to show interest in a member of another class, one's peers would likely shun any relationship that might develop.

you're nevertheless youthful, save dating, and be with one yet another. you would be able to desire to elope in case you had to probable, yet that would make your mothers and dads and his mothers and dads disillusioned probable. possibly in case you frolicked along with his mothers and dads, they gets to understand you and could prefer you to be married to their son. isn't faith meant to instruct you to love and know all of guy-form? i'm no longer non secular, yet you may think of that all and sundry is equivalent, no faith is from now on efficient than the different faith. all and sundry has the excellent to have confidence what they like. It should not be used to evade 2 people who love one yet another from getting married.

It's just the way that the world works. Doctors, lawyers, executives, etc tend to look down on clerks, garbage men, truck drivers, etc. And they won't even date someone they look down on, so why would they marry them?

They can't because they don't know enough about relationships and about love and about getting along.

Pretty much the same reason any other couple doesn't get along.
