No, Sugar gliders are still considered a fairly new exotic pet. Breeders (having 3 or more breeding females) must be licenced to sell them though.

I presume these sugar gliders come from Papua New Guinea originally. They are completely protected in Australia and it is illegal to keep them as pets. I have them in the trees along the river at the bottom of my garden. They are gregarious animals and require the company of other sugar gliders. Keeping them alone is cruel and they really need groups larger than two.

they are very complicated and family oriented and need a mate to survive. They take intense care and are so cute but very hard to care for.

it should, if that little squirrel fly,s away from you never to be seen again maybe you can put it on your taxes as a loss.
