The problem is there is no one equipment list. You'll do your heating, lighting, substrate, etc. in your own way.

MY list would be...

- Large plastic tub (assuming the guy is under 6"), the translucent ones that are about 36-40" long.

- Thick layer of soil mix- sand, leaf mulch, clean soil (no perilite or other additives)- or whatever formula you like.

- Humidity box- plastic tub big enough for a hide with a hole in the side. Put an inch or so of wettened sphagnum moss (not peat) in it, and position it in the warm side of the tank.

- Mercury vapor light to offer heat, light, and UVB rays, in a heatproof socket, set on a timer.

- If the room cools off, you'll need a secondary nighttime heater. Try a ceramic coil heater, heatproof socket, and a thermoregulator.

- Water dish, that magic size big enough that it can get into and soak if desired, and get out of, but not drown in.

- Food dish, thermometers (hot zone and cool zone), hygrometer.

- Multi-vitamin, calcium carbonate powder or cuttlebone (although some tortoises won't eat cuttlebones.)

Diet is a big issue- make sure you have researched this well.

Not really a good idea. Unless you have a very large natural enclosure. Beardies have voracious appetites. My brother once housed a beardie with a uromastyx lizard of the same size, they grew up together and one day the beardie sadly decided to take a bite and a swallow of the uros head, which almost killed the beardie cause the uro was so big, my point being, dont risk your Hermann's tortie getting his head bit off because you may or may not have the room to house each separately. just keep em separate, that is the safest way to go. Plus there are parasites and viruses one may be harmlessly carrying that may kill the other. Not worth it. Good Luck!
