Trying to determine a potential paternity opportunity. Going through a divorce and finding more and more reasons to check these things out. We have 3 children April 9th will be 17 years married. The last 8 or 9 she has been in a relationship with another man. I have pretty good information to question the youngest, Fair information to question the middle child and have this question and another to question the firstborn eventhough he is 17. The second question is probably necessary for me but is adult in nature and would rather ask it privately.
I don't even know if I'll even use the information I have, it would just probably hurt my kids, but I need to know

Ummmm I hate to tell you but not all first borns are overdue. My first born was born 4 wks premature. If you have a question about paternity then do a DNA test. Obviously, it wasn't an issue until now or else you would have done a DNA test a long time ago. If it's absolutely necessary that you know then do the test. If you love your kids and regardless of the outcome you're still their DAD then don't do the test. Go on loving your kids as you have.

I was 1 week late with my first child.

During a divorce, you can request a paternity test for all of the children involved.
I WOULD NOT single the children out individually. I would test them ALL.

Provided that your name is ON THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE, and you have raised the children as your own for those years, do you WANT TO PUT THEM THROUGH THIS?

It just depends on the individual pregnancy. And that mothers body.

Probably the only way you can contest the paternity of your children would be to have DNA tests done for each of them and yourself.

You can email about your second question if you want.

I am currently at 41 weeks and 4 days and still pregnant, so firstborn babies can definitely be late! In fact, my midwife told me that firstborns are notorious for being "late."

I also read that 65% of firstborn babies are born within 10 days of their predicted due date.

Hope some of this helps you resolve your questions. Good luck!

My son who is my first child was 2 weeks early. I have heard that the first born is usually 2 weeks early or 2 weeks late. But every body is different.

More often than not women don't get that overdue. It really varies from woman to woman.
You can tell after the birth though, if a baby was overdue.. they seem to have a "cooked" look to them, like really dry, peely skin. Almost like what happens to your skin after a sunburn.
The more overdue, the more of the "cooked" look they have

I was told that I would probably be overdue with my first child. Instead I gave birth three weeks early and there were no problems or complications.

My first born was a week and a half overdue when doctor scheduled me for an induction because they didnt feel it was healthy for me or my baby to go any longer.

I have never heard of a baby being more than 2 weeks overdue, but I guess it could be possible, but definitely not over a month.
