I haven't had a bowel movement since Friday (it's Sunday) and I was wondering what I could do to get rid of it other than take laxatives.

Something easy... water (and plenty of it), popcorn, water and fiber filled fruits, such as pineapple, watermelon. Prunes are great too. Most constipation cures are simply dietary. Movement helps too. Get moving. When you're moving, your digestive tract is encouraged to move too. Go out for walks, do situps... anything... just move, drinking plenty of liquids while you're about it.

Try the Water Cure. 14 - 16 oz of water 5 - 6 times a day. It helps to take 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon of salt (put it on your tongue) with each glass.

Dehydration is a big contributor to constipation.

It has worked wonders for me.

Natural way is to eat more vegetables and fruits, drink plenty of water and exercise. Chew vegetables and fruits into smaller pieces. Drink water by take sips at short intervals.

You may need fiber supplement if you can't have enough vegtables and fruits during your meal time.

senna tea works great but can give you slight cramps. Drink it the right before bed and you have results in the morning. Also, epsom salts work pretty good too and supply a little magnesium. Careful with epsom as it can have an explosive diarrhea effect.

drink lots of water, eat lots of fibrous food like vegetables and fruits. cereals (bran etc.),papaya, prune juice. you can also try the fiber drinks like c-lium. you mix it with half a glass of water and drink it before it bulks up, then drink a whole glass of water after. it tastes awful but it is very effective. if your lactose intolerant, drinking milk will help. btw, if you still haven't voided after 4 or 5 days, especially if you normally void on a daily basis, you might want to see a doctor to have it checked.

Mint tea works. It has a relaxing effect on your bowels. If you are bloated and full of gas try eating pineapple. Something in it breaks down the gas. Hope it works for you!!

First of all, include about 8 glasses of water in your habitual day. You can also try some non-animal proteinic suplements, like soy in the way you like it, you maybe need more soluble fiber prior to take non-soluble one.

Soy is like a gentle scrub to your colon.

You must void, white bread, red meat and eggs. In order to relief the work of your stomach and help it to evacuate more easily.
