When we were six and seven my brother and I decided my Mum had been cruel making us tidy up our bedrooms, and thought that we should run away. We packed our favorite belongings in a carrier bag and left the house. We knew we were not allowed to cross the road by ourselves so we walked around the block - several times. Our neighbour saw us out alone and knew it was unusual, so stopped to talk and asked us what we were up to. We explained our predicament. She smiled, wished us luck and went home - stopping off at our house to tell our mum. Our Mum spent the afternoon looking at us walking circuits around the house, and eventually called us in for our tea - as if nothing had happened.
We decided running away was too much hassle and never tried it again!
I am glad that the worlds great explorers had a little more guile and gumption then we did, or we would all still be living in caves!!

my brothers and i we were 5, 7 and 9 we used to live on the seafront and loved to go walking on the mud when the tide was out. One Sunday afternoon we did just that, we left our shoes neatly behind the sea wall and off we went.....We had such an adventure as always, playing all the games our imaginations would allow from pirates to Starsky y Hutch ( 70s cop show series!)
Anyway time went by and the shore line was in the distance and we could see hundreds of people on the sea wall, we were laughing because they looked so tiny then a helicopter flew over head with a huge bright light, oh it was so exciting we couldn't believe we were missing the what ever event was taking place so we started hot legging it back to the shore, it was now dusk and all the street lights were lighting up the seafront looked so pretty.....suddenly there were flash lights every where and of course the tide was coming in fast and furious which made our adventure even more exciting until we realised that all this co motion was for us, a search party!!!! A lady walking her dog on the beach had found 3 little pairs of shoes and phoned the life guard........We were the cause of such a scandal never since have we had so many people worried about us, we were in the local paper interviewed for local TV we thought it was hilarious how ever our parents didn't............They were furious!

Why don't you look back through photo albums and if you have any film/video record look at that. Talk to your parents and grandparents if they are still alive. It's no good writing about someone else's experience, you have plenty of you r own. They don't need to be earth shattering; simple things like locking your dad in the garden shed, or putting worms into your mum's wellies will do fine. You could write a collage of memories. If you think of 5 you only need to write 100 words on each.

Childhood memories are the solace of old age. If you really have no recollection of your childhood then I feel sorry for you as you appear to have lost your memories at a relatively young age.
It is sad you need others to point you in the direction you need to answer your question.
IMAGINATION is not failing you, as anyone can imagine whatever they wish. What you should recall are MEMORIES and no one can recall those for you.

What teachers REALLY love is stories about how a sibling changed your life. If you had a sibling born when you were like 10ish and you had to take care of him and he made you mad, sad, happy, etc, write about that. If not make it up. ^__^

Ask your parents and grandparents for stupid things you did when you were younger! It may remind you of the occasion - or you could just write down what they tell you, with embellishments of course!
I could not write about my childhood, but could about my childrens'.
That way, it is about your childhood, not someone else's.
