It depends what part of the city you want to go to. If 're staying in the centre then try Stavka on Sauchiehall Street. If you get fed up with that there's loads of others to choose from including Nice & Sleazies (is a bit divey but does great food) and a few new places - Capitol (used to be The Library) and some place called The Box (I think).

If you want a beer garden and good grub then go for McPhabs, right at the bottom of Sauchiehall Street, heading towards the Westend. If its the Westend you're after then Ashton Lane is a good call that someone else has already mentioned though it can be pricey. Of course there is also the Mechant City but I'm afraid I don't drink at that end often to recommend a particular bar though Blackfriars is good and I hear good things about Arta. Enjoy!

My favourites are: Bon Accord, North Street State Bar, Holland Street Station Bar (near Buchanan Bus Station) Horseshoe, Drummond St? A bit further out but I also like: Tennents Bar, Byres Road Clockwork Beer Company, Cathcart Road near Hampden Park
