I'm wondering what the effects on my turtle will be. Just a week ago she was separted from her brother. They were two years old and never separated before. He died so there's really no getting him back. I've looked into getting a new RES to add company but she's about 10-12 inches in diameter and the only other ones I've found are about 4 inches.
Originally I bought her brother first and had him for about 2 days before I bought her. He acted really depressed without her. I know they have adjustment issues but he was eating and was alright except for what I thought was loneliness. After I added her to his tank he became fine. Since his death, she's been acting alright, eating normally if not a little more and she's grown a little too. I'm just worried that since her brother had this emotional attachment that she will too. I got them when they were barely able to be sold and like I said, they were never separated before his death (besides the 2 day window in which I first got them).

I went back and measured her and she is only 4" in diameter. Her circumferance is about 10"

She'll be fine. Turtles are typically loners in the wild, only coming together for sharing resources, not social reasons. Don't worry about her, sweety.

she moved out, so as which potential they're really separated, ideal? so as that they are loose from one yet another and relationship persons. i heavily doubt that their breakup consists of her being nonetheless committed to him. in case you become in contact, you'll look like mrs. crabtree from bewitched. you'll look like a buttinsky.

As long as the basic cares are solid, it should be OK.
