That is not surprising that many people who receive welfare don't get much from government. Even in Canada, it is the same way too. I suggest they seek a career coach to help them get started in getting an education, and a better job so they can move on getting paid better so they can live better with out much struggle to survive. Money doesn't grow on trees, remember.

You are the problem with this country. You Democrats like to say how proud you are to be a Democrat and like to bring up JFK whenever you can. Do you remember him saying,"Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country" ? The liberal Democrats have enslaved you and thousands more just like you with welfare. Instead of welfare we need workfare. We now have 94% emplyment there is no excuse for not having a job, except for laziness and a complete lack of self respect. The liberals have you dooming yourself and your children to a life of waiting for Thursday to get your check.

Your question makes me laugh. Let me see if I have this right. You are a Conservative who uses a screen name of "Proud Liberal". You ask questions that stir up your base to see what havoc you can cause. Looking at some of the answers, you have some success. Very nice work. All I can say is that Karl Rove would be very proud of you. Keep stirring the pot.

I agree with most everyone here in saying that you should get a job and contribute to society rather than TAKE from it. If my 16 yr old kid can find a job first day out looking than so can you.

If you are serious and if this is not just a statement to rile people up....let me say this...

Anyone who doesn't work for a living and who sits on the old butt and lets someone else support him/her is a deadbeat, a leech on society and not worthy of recognition.

Welfare is a helping hand - not a lifestyle...

GO GET A JOB!!!! The taxpayers are tired of supporting you and people like you.

If you're a proud lion, get a job and off of welfare.

I really don't believe we need to raise welfare. I think more people should try harder to get a job.

It's taken only four days but you have exposed your self Proud Liberal to be a wolf in liberal sleep's clothing. You questions were a little heavy handed.

The tip off was your concern for Vermont.
