Virgin Mobile no-contract means that this is a pre-paid carrier service, which basically means you are not locked into a contract and can cancel anytime if you are unsatisified with their service.

Virgin Mobile has the following rate plans, either by minute or monthly charges.

For minutes plan, it will cost 18 cents a minute or you pay $6.99 a month for 10 cents a minute all the time.

If you decide on the monthly plan, the following applies
$99.99 --1000 minutes and unlimited nights and weekends
$59.99 --600 minutes and unlimited nights and weekends
$44.99--400 minutes and 2000 nights and weekends minutes
$34.99--300 minutes and 1000 nights and weekends minutes
$24.99 -200 minutes only on this rate plan.
$14.99--100 minutes only on this rate plan.

As you can see the monthly rate plans give you more otherwise if you go on a minute plan, you will have to put out more money if it will cost you 18 cents a minute, especially if you plan to use your phone a lot.
