depends on a few things, engine size, vehicle load, vehicle speed. i will tell you this much, because of where i work, i can tell you, they get really hot , probably hotter than the 500 degrees someone mentioned. you actually still have a flame in part of this pipe in order to heat the catalitic converter. in my 15 years i have seen a couple glowing bright red when it came in.

around 300 to 500 degrees maybe

At max RPM after 5 min, it will glow bright red. Don't touch it!
