50 = 2*25 = 2*5*5
sqrt of 50 can be written as 5sqrt(2)
32 = 2*16 = 2*4*4
sqrt of 32 can be written as 4sqrt(2)

5sqrt(2)-4sqrt(2) = sqrt(2)

sqrt of 50=sqrt of 25 x sqrt of 2= 5 sqrt of 2
sqrt of 32=sqrt of 16 x sqrt of 2=4 sqrt of 2

Should be the same as putting both numbers under a single square root sign so all you need to do is the subtraction and then take the square root of that.
