Tai Chi believe it or not is really good. Yoga is pretty awesome too...especially the instructors that rub your shoulders down at the end of the class. I used to fall asleep at the end of each of my yoga classes.

Take a walk for about 20 minutes..that helps a lot. Swimming works for me. Doing somethign completely different. I'm self employed so i work around the clock....burn out is really easy, but you take things in perspective and try to not get too stressed by other people.

I've been fighting this for a while now. Here are a few things that I have found that help me:

1) Leave work at work!!! When you drive away, don't take any extra work and leave work thoughts at the office
2) Plan things you enjoy to look forward to
3) Leave your emotions at home. Develop a work persona that is professional, but don't take anything to seriously AND DON"T TAKE ANYTHING TO HEART!!!
4) Exercise and finding time to make yourself look and feel good.
5) Do some soul searching, is this the job or career for you? Look around and see what else you could do
6) Develop an escape plan- If if you don't use it, knowing that you have other options and are working towards them is empowering.

There an old saying that it's called work, and not play, for a reason. But when you reach burn out and your job negativly affects your life, then it ok to think about moving on.

Personal power, the capability to influence the world around you in the ways you desire, is the opposite of helplessness, which causes burnout. Personal power is empowering and combats burnout. Personal power is a feeling of I-Can-Do - a belief that you can act to control your work. While we have little control over other people, we do have control over ourselves - something we tend to forget when we're feeling helpless. Almost every job has some leeway for tailoring it to better fit your work style. The ability to mesh a job to your style increases feelings of potency and enjoyment of work. Expand those parts of your job you enjoy most. When you discover a service you can provide by engaging in an activity you enjoy, move on it! And make what you do visible. Be alert to ways of highlighting the needs you fill. In this way you can mold the job into one that is more interesting. It will evolve with you, and you'll receive more acknowledgment for your efforts because you have pointed them out.

Sometimes the best solution is to change jobs. Too often, however, burnout victims quit an unsatisfactory job without analyzing the source of dissatisfaction or exploring what is needed, and grab the next job that comes along. Sometimes the new job is as bad as, or even worse, than the old one. Personal power comes in knowing what you need in a job and how to go out and get it. Use Your Imagination and don't limit yourself. Consider every way you can imagine to achieve what you want. Look at what skills you have and then make your plan. When you have made a plan and have determined your path it's time to go to work. Work as hard as you would for "the company." Many people will go all out for a job, yet when it comes to themselves and their own goals, they work half-heartedly. You owe it to yourself to give it your best shot. Chances are you'll hit the bull's eye. The hard part is not the reaching, but the deciding what the goal is. All that is required to get where you want to go is hard work and determination. Remember this: You could be working just as hard for something you don't want, and don't even like.
