What Jessie said - but it's 1 container of oil to 5 gallons of fuel.

If you're mixing different amounts, or want more or less oil in the mix, you can purchase a Ratio Rite, it's a measuring cup that'll tell you exactly how much oil to add to get to the ratio you want.

The larger # is the petrol and the smaller # is the oil.
If it were vice-versa, as an example - you would have a mixture of pure oil with a drop of petrol LOL

Break down the larger # (petrol) to it's smallest increment.
1 liter = 1000 milliliters
(25-1) - Divide the smaller increment by 25.
1000 divided by 25 = 40
For every 40 milliliters of petrol, you would mix in 1 milliliter of oil.

Just as you mentioned - 25 parts petrol, to 1 part oil.

because manufacturers have different criteria for this answer, all i can say is this, go to the book, or do some research. if you use too much oil, you may smoke and foul plugs, but if you go the other direction you, will make yourself a very decorative boat anchor
