OK you done putting out the race card. You must, (for what reason I don't have a clue why), want to run for president. Then you need to get support in the form of CASH. Then you must get the people to vote for you. As I recall in the past only Allen Keys ran for president Oh ya there was a black woman, but I wouldn't have voted for her, so I cant remember her name. Now you have the magic ***** (LA Times) that is running. Great we got a half breed that whitie is supporting due to feeling guilty about slavery. I hope this answers your curiosity.

Through American history, blacks have been viewed and treated as inferior and such was accepted by the majority of voting Americans. That being said, if a black person had run for president around the time of Rosa Parks or Jackie Robinson, they probably would not have received enough votes to beat out their competitors.

Things have obviously improved since then, and a qualified black candidate could become president. Racism still exists, but not nearly to the same extent.

But I have to say, I wouldn't consider Jackie Robinson or Rosa Parks to be good presidential candidates even though they are prominent historical figures.

MJK, who is that? Did you mean MLK? MLK was as much a terrorist as any others that have been making life miserable for the country. Rosa Parks stood up for what she believed was right, and I do agree with her stand. The rest, may have done great things in their careers, but just were not President material. From the structure of your question, if all write as you have, little wonder that they have not made it to the White House, yet I know that many are better educated than you appear to be. The country is not ready for a black president, and that is just the way that it is.

None of the people mentioned ever ran for the office. Anther problem is that Black organizations like the NAACP attack some very good Black people like Condoliza Rice, because they are Republican. The Democrats have always talked agood game, but it was the Republicans who freed the slaves, that appointed the first Black Secretary of State, the first Black Supreme Court Justice and this President who sends more money to Africa to fight AIDS than ever before. Democrats talk the talk, but Republicans walk the walk. Read as many books by Blacks that have made these great stides, study hard, learn the truth(no matter if all around you they say you are wrong) and maybe you will be our first Black President.

It is not that they cannot become president. It is about people support, when they only constitute 10-15% of the population its hard. But things are changing, people are accepting many races. So I guess if not this time but in future things will be different.

Any country needs a president with a brain and heart and integrity and people should vote as if they are color blind

It not lots with regards to the colour which will make the kind as quickly as extra people see in the standard election the failings with racist Rev Wright and Ayers i think of that could have people turn faraway from Obama. the reason extra blacks are balloting for Hussien Obama is by using the dislike speeches given via the likes of Rev Wright. those clips on Rev Wright form of kicked off this black and white stuff .

Because the content of your character is of no consequence if you take my meaning. Sometimes, it doesnt matter how hard you work or how smart you are or what youve done for society at large. You'll still get the short end because of what you are rather than who you are. I dont like it, I hate it as much as I hate anything. Life isnt fair and people dont care so get yours while the gettings good, to hell with everyone else.

Yea...there's a lot of great people of all races that never become president, nor even become politicians. Have you ever thought that maybe they don't want to be a politician or president?
