You need to know the SSID it's transmitting on. Your Wireless adaptor should pull in all nearby transmitters, and you pick the one, enter login info, and you're in.

well if you have a wireless airport card installed into the device you are trying to us wifi on, then go to connection settings and then search for new access point. Once you found the new access point add it. some computers or devices do this on their own, but keep in mind you need to have either an exterior wifi card or an interior wifi card

you didn't say if you had a wireless router and if you have a desktop or laptop.
with a desktop you need a wireless card in your p.c. and you need to run setup for modem in the desktop.
did this work close up?

fist open the start menu, then the network connections link . next when it opens up look to the left and there should be a connection wizard , click t and follow the directions
