Everyday it's news of somone's head exploding, people getting cut up, vehicles exploding.....yawn. It would be different if the news wasn't censored, but I get bored with the angle in which it's presented

I'm just tired of hearing about it. I don't doubt that it's awful over ther, but why is the latest car bombing or something that's been blown up still news? I mean, it happens every single day...it's really no longer news.

Bombings and body counts aren't really news by themselves. But if I were reporting on Iraq, I wouldn't want to go out and do real reporting, either. It's a dangerous place where reporters can lose their heads (quite literally). Also, what would be useful news to us doesn't fit into an eight-second slot on the evening news. And TV for the past twenty years has defined balance as two extremists insulting each other, so there's no way to see a complex view of a complex situation.

What news reports of Iraq? You're right about the angle and censorship. It's one-sided and that's how the U.S. government wants it. They're the main force behind the U.S. media. They should show more about our soldiers and their families and the cost of this crazy "civil" war. The actual sacrifices that are being made and for what?!

I am not getting NUMB ... I am thinking of what I can do to help in any way, I am thinking of our troops dying out there, and the Iraqi's dying there, and the injured and the devastated people (including numerous children)... also the families of all who have lost loved ones, or are awaiting their return.
Indifference to humankind's devastation is the beginning of the devastation of a Nation....
Think about it!

Sadly it seems that even the Republicans in congress have developed this numbness you speak of... I for one, will always care about our men and women in the line of fire... how can you be numb to that ??? Maybe it's not your son or daughter losing an arm or leg to a mine or RPG, but it's somebody's and that somebody is probably sooner or later going to be a friend or neighbor !!!

As sad as it is to say, I try to skip those parts of the news. I'm just tired of hearing about it and the war in general. I wish it would end soon.
