it's a crown tail betta, and it wont eat anything lately and its crap is wierd and white, unlike my other fish. His stomach is swollen and i thought it was constipation, but he still poops even though it looks wierd, and i don't think it's his swim bladder because he's not swimming funny.

sometimes i think he's dead because he's not moving, and his gills are barely even moving so if you just glance at him you would think he's dead until you scared him. He has clamped fins too that he didn't have when i bought him in march.

He was in a 12 gal. aquarium with purified water, which i maintain well, keep at 80 degrees, and have BettaZing in to protect him since my last fighting fish died from velvet (The old fish had no contact with the new aquarium, so there's no velvet in there).

please tell me what's wrong with him and what i can do to help him.

I'm glad you included the photo - it appears your betta is suffering from dropsy. Rather than being a definite diagnosis, this is more a "collection" of conditions with similar symptoms, most frequent of which are bloating and/or scales sticking out from the body from the inability to flush fluids from the body. Your fish doesn't appear to have the scales sticking out, at least not yet.

Some forms of this are treatable, depending on the cause. He may be reacting to the BettaZing you're using in the water, or he may have a bacterial infection which is preventing normal kidney function. Some suggested treatments would be to stop the BettaZing (at least for now), and try treating with either epsom salt or antibiotics. See the info in the pages below - the first source shows an infected fish, the last gives the best treatment options.

Good luck with this.

Definitely sounds like an internal parasite since you've been so good to him as far as care.
I'd recommend a 75% water change (I would have said 100 if you'd had him in cramped quarters) and then treat with maracyn 2. Also, during treatment, don't have carbon in your filter (carbon removes medicines) and get some extra oxygen going in the tank.
If, he does not pull through, make sure you scrub the tank (scald it even better!) before getting another fish in there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you :)

Maybe it doesn't like what you are feeding him. You really should give him funnel cake. Fish get tired of those pellets and flakes they get all the time, it's like eating newspaper. Funnel cake will make him a happy fish.

beautiful fish there. If his belly is swollen and he doesnt eat he may be suffering internal parasites. You can get the med at your local pet shop.
