not counting Bo's injury

Bo Jackson was the better athlete. He made all star teams in football and baseball. That's something Sanders never did. He also regularly was with the top of the league leaders in HR, RBI, SB in baseball, and yards, average per carry, and touchdowns in football, despite never playing a full season. Deion did do two things that no one else has done. 1. Hit a HR and score a TD in the same week. (1988)
2. Play in an NFL game and a MLB game in the same day.(1992)

Bo. Deion was good at football, and mediocre at baseball. Bo excelled in both. If it weren't for the freak injury, I think Bo would have been in the Royals HOF and possibly the NFL HOF. Have you ever played against Bo in the old Tecmo Bowl Nintendo game? He was unstoppable. He also hit a HR onto the roof of the left field concession stand at the K and threw a guy out at home from about 390 feet away. Bo is a freak of nature.

Good question. Overall athletic ability, I'm gonna go with Bo. Deion was faster, but Bo was much stronger and just as agile.

I will take the abuse - but I have never heard of Bo Jackson - I take it he was a baseball guy?

As for Neon Deion, take away the swagger and the Superbowl rings (consecutive with different teams in the 90's) and you have a guy who was a solid hitter in baseball (was he an outfielder from memory too?), then you have a guy playing on offense as WR and then turns right around and plays defensive back.

I think I recall him playing over 100 downs in a couple of Cowboys games when Jimmy Johnson used him both sides of the ball.

At the elite level, that is an incredible athlete. Certainly something we have yet to see since, and may not ever.

(Yes, I am a Cowboys fan - can you tell?)

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

Deion Sanders.
Really as an athlete i dont think anyone can compare to his
4.19 second 40 yard dash and his 4.6 second backwards 40 yard dash time [1]

The only player to play in the world series and the superbowl. Excelling in the highest stage of both sports. Sanders batted .533 with 4 runs, 8 hits, 2 doubles, and 1 RBI in 4 games in the 92 WS. He was rated the # 8 Greates College FB player of all time by College Football News. The Sporting News named him # 37 on the Top 100 football players of the century.
In 641 BB games he batted .263 with 39 HR, 168 RBI, 186 stolen bases.

Bo Jackson hands down no doubt about it, he was just as fast if not faster and bigger and stronger. He would have done big things had is career not been cut short by injuries.
