I heard Don Imus refer to the Rutgers womens basket ball team, which is a majority of African American women as "nappy headed ho's".
Why is an ignorant fool allowed to keep his radio show on and keep saying nasty derogatory statements about minorites?
If Michael Richards can be banned from a comedy club, he can be banned from radio.

I don't watch people like that, i just heard what he said on the radio this morning by someone else mentioning it and that there will be a protest in Chicago tomorrow at 12 outside the NBC station.

This is for Comeonnow. I never said it was right for other blacks to say those derogatory things about each other. If you have paid attention to the media in the couple of months since the Michael Richards thing saying Nword That Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and Paul Mooney have been campaigning to have the Black community to stop using those words. I know Snoop Dogg isn't the best person to look upto but he stopped staying it and started usinng "Nephew" instead of the n word.
So don't get me twisted, I never said it was ok for us to say that stuuf and people are trying to get blacks not to say it anymore but it is a nasty habit and those are hard to break, like smoking.
So you think about that!

He will be the next in line to claim a drug dependancy related issue caused him to shoot his mouth off and say something stupid and inexcusable..
Then proceed to walk out of rehab, claim himself to be 'saved'
..And 6 months later say something worse than what got him there in the first place.
Save the world the drama.. Get rid of him now!

Don Imus says shocking things, that is his job. He is not a news reporter, he is not someone who we expect to be politically correct. Rappers make fun of white people ALL THE TIME on their albums (CD's). Black people and Spanish people across this country treat white people with disrespect more often than not. If you are going to hold Don Imus accountable for his comment, then I would like you to please hold EVERY black person who has ever said a rude comment about a white person accountable as well. If you don't like it, change the channel. It is called freedom of speech. If you want to call a gay person a fag, go ahead. If they don't like it thats their problem. If you want to call a fat person names, thats your right too. It may not be polite, it may not be politcally correct, but it is your freedom of speech. Once you stop people from their ability to speak their minds, then you are now controlling people's thoughts. I don't agree with what he said, but I don't expect anything less. If comedians always have to be politcally correct in the future, then we are looking at a very unfunny future...

I think what Imus said was offensive and any minority should take offense to his comments. When Isiah Washington called his co-worker gay the media and the gay community wanted him fired and he said this to a co-worker not millions of people. Imus is broadcast to millions of people and makes obvious racial comments and he is allowed to get a slap on the wrist. If he had called Hispanics 'border jumpers or beaner' there would have been greater repercussions. It is just like any other situation that deal with racial comments towards African-Americans, we are expected to deal with it and move on. For those people who say we use the racial slurs against ourselves in rap music, hard rock and heavy metal refer to women as sluts and bitches too, but that does not mean people go around saying it to women.

I can't stand Imus, but why can't we say what we feel anymore? There is no freedom from being insulted. He's spent 40 years insulting everyone, now he says something about blacks and all of a sudden he needs to go? I get offended everytime I listen to any black comediane sterotype and make fun of my race, but I don't think they should be fired. I just turn the channel. Al Sharpton and company have to have conflicts like these, or else he is out of a job. Where there is no conflict, he fabricates one. Remember Tawana Brawley?

Hmmmm, it's ok for blacks to say nappy headed ho's...... Look at lyrics in songs from project pat to LL Cool J!!!!!!!!! Does Sharpton and the like want to cesor white people into having a more limited vocabulary that any white or other raced person? I gotta message for Mr. Sharpton and Mr. Jackson: Police your own communities language then go after other calling them racist! How many songs have the "N" word or other words that if a white person spoke the same the would be chastized? Think About it. Get over it.
Since when does equality mean one race has MORE rights than others?

I never heard of Don Imus or listen to his radio show. But he sounds highly ignorant and racist. He shouldn't even be on regular radio because those comments are offensive. He should be banned from radio because they took Howard Stern off for his sexual comments,so this guy should be banned in the same way. He probably looking for shock value and attention. I think people should hit him where it would hurt the most "his pockets" by protesting his show.

Well, last time I checked this was America and we are supposedly free to say whatever we want no matter how ignorant it may be, however if I own a business and one of my employees says something I find offensive or is likely to hurt my business then I may take disciplinary action. And he has been suspended for two weeks.

Oh relax... get over your self-important self. Imus is anything but racist. He was joking about how that type of language is used so commonly... "Ho" is NOT a white man's term.
