As the other posters have mentioned, you normally use the slash for a division sign when writing on the computer, but if you're looking for the obelus (÷), it can be keyed using alt-0247 (that is, hold down the alt key, press the numbers 0, 2, 4, and 7 on your numeric keypad (it must be the keypad, not the numbers above the letters on your keyboard), then release the alt key).
